Mission
Pomfret Rod & Gun Club promotes the conservation of fish, game and other natural resources, and practices & teaches the highest degree of sportsmanship. We encourage interests and skills in the sports of hunting, fishing, sport shooting & other outdoor activities. We foster good fellowship among our membership and the community, through sponsoring and coordinating sportsman activities with state, county, & local organizations while operating on a nonprofit, nonpolitical basis.

Member Benefits
In addition to camaraderie and mentorship from seasoned sportsmen, Pomfret Rod and Gun Club offers its members many amenities, including: ample hunting acreage and a private game preserve for stocked pheasants and dog training, a pond frequently stocked with rainbow trout, skeet and trap ranges, an outdoor rifle range, archery range, and indoor and outdoor pistol ranges.
Members enjoy time at our fire pit under the pavilion, and outdoor enthusiasts hike our extensive trails across the property. The Club also offers many educational courses, as well as private and public events run primarily by volunteers. As an added bonus members can take advantage of free rentals of the Clubhouse. PRGC is active in our community partnering with the Town of Pomfret Recreation Department, The Wounded Warrior Project, Daughters of the American Revolution, among others.
